  1. Question on Dension DMP3 MP3 Player Reviewed · · Score: -1, Redundant

I'm curious as to the durability of this. If it uses standard hard drives, wouldn't bumps in the road cause the hard drive to eventurally die?
Im under the impression that disk drives are fairly sensitive.

  2. I pay where it's deserved on College Students Are Buying More, Warez-ing Less · · Score: 0

I pay for the software i use the most. And most of that software is the easiest to pirate.
i dont pay for windows or office or most things that cost above $100 just because im not wealthy and most of the time they are overpriced :]
but i do have legal licenses for cuteftp, securecrt, textpad and a few other things that have small licenseing fees which i feel the person who wrote the software deserves my money.
it makes me feel good about paying a developer. But i dont feel inclined to give my money to a huge corperationg such as microsoft or adobe, even though there products are alot more valueable then simple utilities.

They probably helped it with there bloated operating system, if microsoft's end users realised they could run linux and all there desktop apps, perfectly on anything about 200mhz then the only reason to upgrade over the past 3 years has been for games. or servers

  5. A blow for Linux on Microsoft Would Settle For The Children · · Score: 0

COnsidering these schools did not have the money to spend on microsoft licenses in the first place, there alternative would have been linux or other free software. Microsoft just ensured these children wont be exposed to free software/alternative operating systems in the near future.

  8. Check out an ever better case design on Using Radiators to Cool CPUs · · Score: 0

www.koolance.com has a new version of there water cooled case. this thing can water cool your cpu video card and hard drives. no fans in the case ( you may want one for air circulation) there a few temperture controlled fans on the top of the case, but im willing to bet this case is quieter then most cases. not to mention its great for overclocking.

  10. Dont bash redhat on IBM Wants Linux · · Score: 1

someone mad a negative comment towards redhat. i guess people dont like the fact that redhat is commercialized.

Yet i think the linux community owes alot to redhat. for one, RH is responsible for ALOT of companies adoption of linux. companies like to see a strong corperation to stand behind there product. this is one of the reasons windows is choosen over linux. Alot of this has to do with executives and not the IT people.

Redhat was the first linux distro i used. it is a great way to learn linux. if i had tried to ue debian as my first linux os, i would still be using NT.

redhat played a large part in making linux as popular as it is. and so, thank you redhat.

P.S. this post is offtopic =D
