I believe it was the bandwidth requirement of tracking Debian unstable being refered to.
less than 1 minute. Compare that to the time to write out a check, print out an envelope, put on a stamp.
At least twice as quick, I'd say.

.. Was 'Red Carpet' ever made? It would have been easier to use apt, since it has been ported to rpm. Same goes for that KDE update thing, and all the other redundant tools.

How about a package management system that compiles everything from source... That's what the FreeBSD ports do, isn't it?
Closed drivers suck for FreeBSD too.. My TNT2 is my first and last purchase from nvidia.
