    50MB isn't much nowadays, and it would only be necessary until the relevent packages are updated.. then you can delete the copy in /usr/local

    3 KDE front ends to packet sniffers and no download managers - and so is not really a business/server or desktop OS due to lack of software.

    No download managers? If someone could confirm this, I'll make a start on one..

    If you overwrite it, the next package update you do will likely clobber your chages.

    Why not stick it somewhere else then, like err, /usr/local

    At least twice as quick, I'd say.

    Now we know - people don't like writing cheques because of the time. And all along we thought it was about money.

    .. Was 'Red Carpet' ever made? It would have been easier to use apt, since it has been ported to rpm.
    Same goes for that KDE update thing, and all the other redundant tools.

    Or am I totally missing the point here?

    Closed drivers suck for FreeBSD too.. My TNT2 is my first and last purchase from nvidia.
