yes, vnc is 'da shit'. its free and much more lightweight than pcanywhere and is multiplatform.
on a windows 9x intranet it hardly makes no sense not to install vnc and set it to run as a service so remote administration is possible. and with an ssh server available, you can even do remote admin over the internet all nice and encrypted.
