I get it. My Dad's 'life' was extended by modern science so he could have a shot at overcoming his stage 4 cancer. The chemo and radiation postponed his earthly departure by 11 months, of which 6 weeks were better, while the remainder of the time he was in such pain and discomfort that it was unbearable. At the time of his passing we were administering enough morphine to kill 6 horses and it only diminished his pain by 20% going from absolutely miserable to extremely miserable.
It was painful and sad to watch and experience and I wasn't the one with the cancer.
May your Father pass comfortably in his sleep.
