The thing is most enterprise who are buying lots of computers every year couldn't care less about AMD. In the industrial computer buisness, it's more often than not a hard requirement for them to have "Intel Architecture", even if there is no rationnal reason to it.
As long as this will be the case, Intel will be the top vendor.
Also, it's neat to see AMD invest in FAB plants, but there is always the chipset issue. Yes NVidia is kicking serious butt with their products but can they follow ?? This is where Intel strong point is, their products are built together and are validated together.
I work for an industrial computer manufacturer and we have this single board computer that got into a speedboat for telemetry.
For sure, the boat had to take a wave the wrong way and, you've all seen what happens then, the boat cas desintegrated before anyone had the time to sat "WOW". Divers managed to get the computer back to the surface and to everyone disbelief, once dried up the almighty 286 SBC booted up !!!
