At the risk of lowering the tone of the discussion... QT is butt-ugly (at least imho). Maybe themes in QT 2.0 will sort this out, but I doubt it.

Maybe this really *is* a troll, and I'm just thick, but it seems like a perfectly reasonable suggestion to me - for instance, that article posted ages ago by Sengan about the attack on Iraq could fall into this category. I always have my threshold on -1 anyway...
Obviously, moderators are more likely to read a thread about moderation, but still, this article is so over-moderated it's a joke!
So it's not okay for some people to play violent games, because their minds might be warped, but it's allowed for people like you? Come on... Also, if you take this view, where do you draw the line? If you don't allow your 10-year-old to play Quake, what about when he gets to 12, 14, 16... And there is also the fact that kids will always have friends who are allowed to play stuff like that even if they aren't.
I think a lot of children have more resilient minds than adults.

Maybe anyone can program *really badly*, but to program *well* requires "training, experience and the right kind of person", as you might say. Isn't it slightly arrogant that you, as a computer scientist, take this view?
