My favorite line out of that had to be "I've never actually seen any of the Akira series". You are insulting this anime, saying that it is trash and you've never actually seen it.

I read your other comments, I also really like how you jump back and forth between specifically Akira and anime in general. You cannot put anime into one category. Akira and, oh say, Ranma 1/2 have *nothing* to do with each other. I, for one, am not a fan of anime such as Akira, but that does not stop me from liking Ranma, Fushigi Yuugi, Kodocha, or Princess Mononoke; and none of those are based on what you call "flashy martial arts, bone-shaking explosions and poorly dubbed voiceovers" and "foul degrading filth". But it's still anime.
The generalizing of the american culture was really nice, too. not all of us are god-fearing republicans. And please let me know what law I would be breaking to cause me to be arrested for owning anime.
