This seems to have taken us 1 step closer to solving the problem of dissipating bone strength and density in prolonged periods of weightlessness (one of the major problems of a manned Mars mission).
Something you might find a bit interesting... My high school had an IT team consisting of the Band teacher and several students. Well, not officially. It was the "Computers Special Projects" class, whose students were originally supposed to redo the school's website (which never got done). But the teacher ended up using the majority of the period sending us around classrooms to replace, upgrade, and set up systems, upgrade software, set up networks, etc. (of course interspersed with long sessions of paper football and the such while waitng for mouseclicks to register on the 15-year old Macs)
Of course the teacher was at only slightly above the computer expertise level of the average mom&pop windows/mac user (the school can't afford to hire any real IT staff), but he was very open with his shortcomings and we all learned from each other. He did, however, keep all network administration priviliges to himself, (as I would have myself, if I was in his position) fully understanding that he was dealing with High School students.
In the end, I am glad to have taken the "class," as it was both a learning experience (dealing with some of the computer problems) and a relaxing way to put myself away from the rest of the high school crap for 1 period.
He talked about visiting classrooms where 12-year-old's spent hours studying lists of analogies, a central feature of the SAT.
"The time involved was not aimed at developing the students' reading and writing abilities but rather their test-taking skills,"
Nah, they stopped painting the external fuel tank a while ago because of the great deal of weight that an unpainted tank saved. (That is why they all orange -- the metal's natural color.)

Makes perfect sense to me...

The point is to have other people read your post. Unless you're just trying to gain karma. (In which case you should't be posting.)
