People except it because they have no choice. If you go to buy a car in the UK and it has this fitted are you going to bother to rip it out and void the warranty or worse break the law! It's just not worth the effort involved to do this. That's why most of these initiatives get through!
And the public camera placement most except as a way to reduce crime in towns and cities but adding control of speeding takes all the fun out of driving. Who out there does't get a buzz of of breaking the law by a few miles per hour!
Seriously though, where does monitoring stop. Is the next step cameras in houses to stop wife battering!
