Should I be in a position where security becomes paramount, not only would I run encryption, but also use some OS that would be difficult for the guys in the jackboots to work with. Maybe BeOS, QNX or even AtheOS. I would bet that these guys don't have readymade tools for a semi-obscure OS.
There is a lot of truth to that statement. The idea of technical support of Supra (the company that made modems) before Diamond bought them was much differant than the concept of support offered more recently.
Perhaps it should be called 'song and dance' support.

Student co-op with bug high-tech company: duties included sweeping floor, fetching coffee and untangling cords.
Probably not.
You will use this experience to load your resume, legitimately, with experience that few people of high school age can have.
Don't forget about the contacts you will make. They might even lead you to a real job someday.
