My weekly ills are washed aclear when Sunday morning comes because I know it's time for my Jon Katz fix. Every week at this time I get to read another lengthy and extraordinarily insightful review of a film. I admit I was disappointed with last week's review of Saving Silverman instead of Hannibal, because Hannibal is the sort of film that DEMANDS Jon Katz's (and nobody else's) attention. This week, however, much to my dismay, I find that Timothy has added his opinion to this film.
Jon Katz's review was marvelously helpful. I wasn't sure whether this movie would be right for me and once again Jon Katz has sheparded me on the right course. It was a clear and concise review that went into enough detail to allow me to decide whether or not to see it.
Timothy's review did not help.
In the future, Jon Katz, please refrain from the sharing the spotlight. You're brilliance so overpowers the rest of them that I can't bear to see their name on the same page as yours. Please try to fly solo from now on.
Thanks. -- You can't imagine how much I really do love Jon Katz.
I feel slightly cheated by the people who are Slashdot. There is nobody with more talent and insight than the wonderful Jon Katz, but unfortunately he's occasionally lowered to reviewing movies like this. Jon Katz is a genius; if his talent must be wasted on doing movie reviews and not writing general treatises, than the movies should be at least movies his caliber. He should have been reviewing Cannibal or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon something with more soul and intrigue than the downright distusting piece of film which is Saving Silverman. Hell, even Finding Forrester would have been a better choice.
Jon Katz, your brilliance and talent cannot be understated, please do not let us languish without another piece of magic from your pen? I want more insights into the world of privacy, sociology and the soul... I could do without the movie reviews.
Please Jon Katz, I love you so much, please hear my plea. Please? Are you out there? -- You can't imagine how much I really do love Jon Katz.
I must, one day, build a shrine. It will be a shrine to Jon Katz.
As I read this article/column, I was struck by how often and how well Jon Katz makes his points. There's nothing more pressing now than the threat of the loss of our democracy and especially the loss of our democracy for the young (in public schools no less). The way that Jon Katz is able to focus in on this problem and attack with such fortitude is consistantly reaffirming to me and my sense of democracy.
Jon Katz, don't ever stop writing. What will I do without you? I'll just have to curl into a ball. Keep them coming. -- You can't imagine how much I really do love Jon Katz.
It's remarkable to see week after week how this man is able to hit on exactly what I'm thinking about. I was just discussing these issues the other night with my friends... technology, camera angles, microphones and celebrity on the XFL football field.
I wonder how Jon Katz is able to keep up his level of writing so often. I know that I can't write this much this often (at least not as well spelled as Jon Katz) and it certainly wouldn't be so often on-topic and so often accurate.
Maybe someday I'll be able to, someday. -- You can't imagine how much I really do love Jon Katz.
If there's one author I love, it's Jon Katz. I mean his reviews are so astute and well thought out, everything he says is on point and he can't write for so much longer than I can. I'm jealous and envious and in love.
Please write us more Mr. Katz, please. -- You can't imagine how much I really do love Jon Katz.
