What actually do Apple Records do nowadays if they don't hold the back catalogues?
I'm guessing they don't release the new Beatles records, so is it just a holding company to look after the existing assets?
Maybe in this case it would be more effective for Apple Corporation to buy Apple Records - or maybe it would be even more appropriate for Steve Jobs other media corporation, Disney, to just buy Apple Records?
As for the point of the remaining Beatles licensing the back catalogue to Apple to make available via iTunes, wouldn't it actually be Michael Jackson who would be in the position to do that?
Seeing as he's in financial trouble lately from what you hear with all the news reports maybe it would make commercial sense for Apple Corporation to buy the back catalogue from him, which I think would really wind up the existing Beatles.
Surely as a band they would want to make sure that their music is available to the largest possible userbase. The world has changed since 1960 and this would appear to be the way forward?
OK, there are loads of people out there who can do good impressions of the Simpsons' characters and they threatened to use these last time - is it finally time they'll get rid of everyone and get new talent in there?
I wish I could get this much cash for an hours work but being a male gigolo doesn't pay this well;)
These could be cool - imagine the possiblities - you have one hard disk with the family photos on and one with the porn.
When the family come round show the nice xmas pictures of you and that jumper you didn't want then when they go a simple swap of disks and it'll be like the Playboy mansion....
At least it's got to be better than looking at fish all day right?
Microsoft are always in there somewhere - if you look on the 3721 site it says that they have close links with MSN
"...notably our collaboration with MSN enhances the users' search and navigation experience on the IE browser in China..."
What is the leading browser over there - if they were all using IE then you'd say that Yahoo have the advantage here but since they have a tendancy to prefer their own Linux distro's I guess it's all up in the air?
I give it 14 days before they get hit with an intellectual property lawsuit - if it was freeware I guess it might not have been so bad but they're selling it......
I'll keep my iPod for my MP3's and save the space on the iPaq for other useful stuff (like PocketSCUMM!)
I had a similar experience almost a year ago.
Basically, I resigned from the company I was at due to cashflow problems - ie, they couldn't pay my wages for four months - I didn't think that this was an unreasonable reason to leave.
I went to a job agency in one of the cities nearby, and as it turns out, he was a friend of the MD of my previous company - I'd told the agency exactly why I'd left, and as it turned out he was on the phone as soon as I walked out the office to let them know what I said!
A friend who was still working at this company at the time (he was a trainee on low wages who they could afford to pay) called to let me know that the MD had been in touch with his solicitors to begin legal proceedings against me due to my 'opinion' of my ex-employers.
So, how did it turn out? The legal case was dropped by the solicitors because this guy could not afford to pay their last bill (around $40!).
Sometimes you just come up against power-crazy people who think that they are a lot more important than they actually are - they had even initially tried to sue me because my new choice of job was supposedly in breach of my contract with them - believe it or not they based this on the grounds that I was still dealing with IT and they thought this was unfair!
Suffice to say that I've now got an excellent job with an excellent company, who have totally ignored all the so-called 'true' information that my ex-employer passed on to them - their reason - my old company was a tin pot organisation who did not know their arse from their elbow!
These things usually turn out okay in the end!

From StarBrite's website:
"No need to waste money on an expensive player and carry two items"
Nice! So they're saying I should keep my $20 and take the iPod everywhere with me?!
