  1. Give me a break on Moby Says Techie Fans = Fewer Sales · · Score: 1

I would expect better from someone like Moby.

I think the real reason is the public realizes that 18 is just a really bad duplicate of Play. And I think they also realize that Moby is now a great big corporate whore sellout. Why doesn't he license all the songs on 18 to car companies? It would sure generate alot more revenue than just plain old record sales. I love it when rich people complain.

  2. Education Budget on How Much Do Employers Budget for Education? · · Score: 1

I work for Gap Inc. in the Old Navy Marketing department as the Network Manager. I'm using primarily Apple equipment. Gap's stand on education varies from department to department so I can only give you info about mine. I have $3000/quarter to use for seminars, training classes and certification courses. If the classes cost more, I have to come up with the remainder. But as far as books are concerned, I can pretty much buy anything I see justifiable. As far as taking the classes or learning new things, Gap would rather me do it on their time than on my own. ie in the next month I'll be taking Apple iServices Certification courses. While I'm at these courses, Gap hires a contractor to do my work while I'm away. Not a bad setup. I think it's more than fair.

  3. Re: Ricochet Dead by June? on Ricochet Dead By June? · · Score: 1

The Ricochet is a great idea....once it starts working. A friend of mine works for a large corporation and Ricochet offered to come out and demo the device. Unfortunately, when they gave the demo, it was in the company's boardroom, where the wireless modem had lackluster performance, when they could get it to work, due to the interference of the building structure. It's a good idea in theory but right now I think it sits in the "toy for ubergeek" category, not the "need for commercial use" where it needs to be to stay afloat as a company.
