It is sad to see Packet Storm go down, especially in this manner. IMHO this was a childish move on JP's part, and Harvard didn't make things much better by destroying all of Ken's data.
I'll bet there is more to this story than we are being told.
most customers would continue to favor Windows because it was a more homogenous product than Linux, development of which is in the hands of a diffuse band of programmers.
Wow. What have I been doing all this time. I'm swithcing to NT right now. Then my software, operating system, and identity will be in the hands on one corporation. Diffuse band. Ha.
RedHat seems to be the most popular distribution, but I will not be pleased with it until they clean up their RPM crap. If RedHat wants me to use RPMS, they should at least place the binaries in the default location. Until they do that, I will be using slackware.
Hmm.... another alpha distribution. I have never used suse linux before, but it is good to see that someone else is making an effort to port to alpha. I am using redhat 5.1 right now on my alphas and I am a bit dissapointed. The more distributions that get ported to alpha, the faster all of the problems will be resolved.
