Infact the soap standard is maintained by the w3c. Anyone could write a soap client or server for any operating system there is nothing microsoft specific to SOAP.

The only reason there arent a lot of unix virus's cause less people use unix. A viri in unix could mess up a whole machine also cause most people that use a workstation log in with near root rights.
