These guys are lamer than Amazon. I kinda think it's funny though, what would have happened if the folks at id Software would have made a patent this ludicrous on.. '3D applications'? How is code different from speech? Let's all go patent multiplication before it's too late! I'll go patent Leibniz's version of calculus while I'm at it.
I think donations should be made depending on how you feel. Sure you can't get onto a train without paying, but how else will the company make any money? It's not like they'll sell a boxed up version of their product. Giving donations for a company like Mandrake is ridiculus. If you want to support them, just go buy their Linux distrib in stores. I remember last time I checked the price with Mandrake 6 a while ago.. it was like $70. A company that charges that much doesn't need donations.
The people who deserve the money are the coders who strain their eyes by working long hours to give you products that they don't even ask fifty cents for.
This is incredibly stupid. It's like they're forcing people to become more and more ignorant.
If we remember a while ago MSN's messanger was able to send messages to AIM/AOL users, and AOL stopped that from happening. Now it's like they're doing the opposite. There's less and less choice when you buy something from Microsoft, and more shit coming from other companies. You'd think after shelling out $200 for a worthless shit excuse of an operating system that they could can the enforcement of what software we use. We don't see this with the Linux distros, now do we.
Wow, what an amazing technology! I just pity whoever's incharge of finding out what the new computer buyer is trying to do. 'Cause they type really really slow! I tell you this technology ain't new. I mean just a few days ago we heard about the easy sniffing of wireless Logitech keyboards and mice. This is just code that does stuff. Maybe websites will make it so really slow computer users can just click once instead of twice to do something stupid.
Yeah.. but that would have to be like on a network. If you're playing friends, then it would be extremely stupid and underhanded to cheat with such a stupid way. Anyone who'd waste his time cheating in a computer game.. well, I'd question their social life.
Honestly I doubt that Logitech intended on making wireless keyboards for people worrying about their information being stolen. The company I work for wouldn't be so stupid as to take a chance on something so insignificant and useless (why would a company want their employees to have wireless keyboards?) Logitech most likely developed these keyboards with home users in mind, the kind that bitch about having to plug a serial cable into the back of their comp. On another note.. what use would sniffing out mouse movements be?
Yeah you're right. But like you said, it also applies that if your parents are immigrants from another country. I did get past Bill 101 for my senior year about 5 years ago, but that was because of my father's political ties.
I've lived in Quebec all my life. I am not French. I have hated every single aspect of "our" government since the day I was refused to be allowed into an English highschool. You see, they have something called "Bill 101", basically stating that if neither of your parents went to a French school in their youth, you will have to go to an French school. I fought this, along with a few friends for my senior year. Our current priminister has suggested in the past to force all universities to become FRENCH only. This includes McGill, one of the top universities in the world. Our politicians do not care about the citizens, just their language. For a city to have legal "bilingual" status, it must have 50% MOTHER TONGUE english. This means any immigrants who can't speak french, but can speak english and their own tongue, do not boost up the majority. Damn them and their feeble weak minds. Thankfully everyone, INCLUDING the french, are sick of the "Parti Quebecois", and next election the liberals are practically guaranteed to be in office.
Who knows, maybe you'll have to sign a waiver and send it to your ISP as well as your recipient's, giving them permission to forward. Even if it is encrypted, it's still data. If I had an email that read "I eat cheese", and I fucked it around to get "eat I cheese", I'm still the author.
There's a university here in Canada, Concordia, that offers 4 different programs in Comp. Sci. Basically they're the same essential core, but they diverse in what fields you want to go into. There is one that crosses CS with CE. Then again you could just go into Computer Engineering. I'm actually in this same dilemma. Problem is I'm *IN* CS now

It would work if you also used about a gallon of lubricant. Unless you want to start a fire, of course.
Proof once again, that duct-tape has over a million uses. Just avoid using as a condom.
The time has come when everyone can afford a simple energy source. Build now and get radiation poisoning free!

I've had ADSL for two years come October, and I've been paying a steady $39.99 a month. This is including modem rental. Shame, SHAME.
Gee.. computers already contain three deadly elements, including lead.
