I was fairly amused when the guy who did the original install showed up with some buddies to harass^H^H^H^H^H^Help the guy who was diagnosing the modem, but whatever
I may be clueless, but what does the ^H^H^H^H^H^ mean? I'm just curious, but I have seen it here on/. several times.
I had a teacher once say "There are no stupid questions", please remember that.
I have them, they are all necessities. Just don't forget the 10-lb. mallet for when a serious job needs to get done.
10-lb.'ers are great for the last ditch effort on getting the job done. When all else fails, give it a swift whack. I could mean the difference between a working and non-working 'puter.
Nothing crushes the competition like a 10-lb.'er. Nothing fixes an iMac like one. You thought they were multi-colored before...
10-lb.'ers are great, pick one up today. It is a must have for any good toolbox.
Yeah, and if they are just simple programs, why are they going to charge $800 dollars for the the full version of Office2000 premium? Apparantly, simple doesn't equal cheap.
I think that the whole "GNU/Linux vx. Linux" thing is just getting silly.
GNU Tools are just that "tools". I don't go call my toolbox downstairs "Craftsman/Toolbox" because I bought some of my tools at Sears.
If I really wanted to get technical with my computer, I'd have to call it GNU/Linux/Win95/Alpine/NEC/Netscape/StarCraft/Diab lo/X11Amp/WinAmp/Lynx/any other piece of software on my computer..., just to give credit where credit is due, because we all know how incredibly important giving proper credit is.
I am really happy with the way that slashdot has improved in the last few days. I love all the changes you made Rob, they are fantastic. All of the new preferences are great to play with (I guess I just love "new and shiny"). The Moderation must be working too, because the quality of the comments is much improved. I am really enjoying reading the comments again. Good Job, and keep up the good work.
I hate to burst your bubble, but those prices are for a lot of 1000. Individual processors will be pricier than that.

The floppy enables the sneakernet for those really short songs.
Accually, it makes your wallet more neat and tidy, with none of that green paper left in there to mess it up.

I especially like how slashdot at 28 beat zd at 30. The "common sense" index on the net just went up a notch.
I loved the one:
"At least here you'll get decency and respect, now strip naked and get on the probeulator"
What a riot,
It might not be a perfect quote, my memory isn't perfect.

haven't missed it yet! I'm on the west coast, so it has not even been on yet. There's no way in hell I am going to miss it though.
