The shortest job I had was one day, though it was due to my own incompetence.
I started at one of the biggest banks in Australia, Westpac, in their IT division, tailoring and purchasing hardware for bank branches, offices, finance offices, whatever.
Anyhow, I was supposed to meet with a systems admin on my second day at 10am. We were going to discuss his requirements for building a LAN from scratch in some financial office.
I was meant to start at 10am. I got a call at 11.30am while I was on my way to work saying "Don't bother coming back."
I didn't like that job too much anyway, but I sitll got paid AUD$200 for my 1 day of work.
