Once about a gazillion years ago, more or less, I told myself that I should make tarballs magically flesh out while in Windows 95 by simply double clicking on file.tgz or file.tar.gz. I succeeded. However, I spent a big chunk of my life. About the time that I was ready to show my nifty little x-platform sysadmin programming coup to the world, I realized that it was more or less redundant.
