You're quite wrong here. DVI is two channels of (up to) 1280x1024. I'm pretty sure you can cut this up any way you like - I know 1600x1200 is not a problem (I'm using that right now, yes, DVI-D) but I'm sure the 1920x1200 or whatever it is the 240T does would work too... just.
1920x1200 = 2304000
2x1280x1024 = 2621440
DVI won't support much beyond the 240T, it seems.
