I think that the hiericharial filesystem is the best way to organize file data. Remember that filesystems store a specific type of data. If you have to store something that dosen't fit well into the model, perhaps you need to use a database or something.

What kind of pomp ass are you to think the all IT ppl must have a fluent level of English?

Every international dicipline has an official language. For diplomacy, it's French, for Science, it's Latin, and for Computers, the langauge is English.

Windows is translated into Asian languages for the same reason why there are medical refrences in English and treaties in German. For day to day internal use, the vernacular is the best language. The first time somehting leaves the borders, however, it needs to be written in the offical langauge.

You're the one being pompus to think that every admin on the internet should know 300 languages so they can respond to requests in any those langauges. Do you know every language used on the internet?

I was under the impression that outliers are eliminated before per cap figures are calculated. Otherwise, the per cap in the US would be totally fucked, because something like 20% of the population control 80% of the wealth (I can't remember the exact figure, but it's something really lopsided like that).

A simple mean would make the per cap a couple million dollars.

Linux is a Unix-like system because it has not been certified by the Open Group as being X/Open compliant, and thus, allowed to use the Unix(tm) name. The primary reason why it hasn't been certified is because the Open Group requires $eriou$ compen$ation for the trouble, and no one wants to pony up the cash for it.

It's largely irrelavent anyhow, many Unix vendors are starting to promote their OSs as "Linux Compatable".
