  1. 6510 CBM on Which Processor Is Best For Real-Time Computations? · · Score: 1

Nah nah you guys, first you have to set up a beowulf cluster of c64's. then you can crank some numbers

seriously, i think the best solution is the cheaper, 2 700 or 800 mhz chips will probably outperform a ghz, and will probably be cheaper since you aviod the premium pricing on 1ghz machines

  2. Win95-Osr2? on Flat Panel Linux Box for $99? · · Score: 1

We all love linux, but wouldnt it work better with something like Windows 95 SR2? (With USB Support) because anything more would really choke on 32Megs, then we could use things like usb zip drives, usb cdroms and usb network cards, as it appears thats the only way to attach devices to the system.
Although, since it has an IDE port, wouldnt it be possible with some power hacks to attach a pc cdrom/zip/superdisk (after all, why wouldnt it support MASTER/SLAVE)? leaving the question on where to put them..
Another interesting idea would be to use these systems as part of your house perhaps on a wall like a picture (discard kbd and control remotely via. Linux/PLIP), or even part of your CAR! (That is a DC input correct?) some more simple hacks and you can probably wire in a Audio Out jack, (Can you say MP3Car?)

I guess that this means microsoft will quickly follow suit with a Direct3D Port to WinCE?

Excellent idea, i have a system i like to call a Network Address Dealing System (NADS) which is much like GRITS, and i have designed another system with a league of my friends called the Collective Undermining of Packets (CUP). These attacks with the Network Adressing Translation System(NADS) must be stopped.
I beleive, that with the GRITS/NADS comfortably held in the PANTS with a CUP, we wont have to worry about any more kicks in the NADS.

I'd like to see that stupid hamsterdance.com get whats coming to it, no only does it suck now, imagine it with half assed png support. Thats if anything supports animated png. Maybe they'll be the first site to get nailed for $5000... if we're lucky...

Nice, theres always some little prick like you, that gets on here, posts something insulting for no good reason, usually (and in your case) as a anonymous coward, for the sole purpose of starting another flame war between Linux and *BSD. i hope you feel happy, because once again instead of the *NIX people coming to gether, you've seperated them back to the positions of Linux vs.*BSD.

*Puts hand over forehead* every time someone seems to express there opinion in a article defending their personal preference they get nailed for it and another damned war breaks out on here... every operating system has its good AND bad points. we can bitch till the end of eternity on what they are exactly, but what it all boils down to is to use what you like, not what other people convince you to like, I started with freebsd simply because a friend was playing with minilinux (ran on dos like 5 years ago) and read a article mentioning freebsd, i decided to get it. used it ever since, and as soon as i switched to linux, teardrop was made... fucked my system.. went back to freebsd.. if i was more of a linux person i would have fixed it asap and moved on, but i didnt, i knew freebsd more and defaulted back to it... stop gripeing, its YOUR choice..

Come on people, every os has its pluses and minuses, They are both free stable operating systems, and both are running the internet as we speak, we shouldnt be bitching amung ourselves, we all have a common enemy, Micro$oft, why not bitch about whether BeOS is better than *NIX for christ sakes.

  10. Why cant we all just get along! on Clearing up FreeBSD confusion · · Score: 1

Damnit, freebsd and linux are designed for diffrent applications, and it seems that both sides have people who think there operating system is the best for everything. FreeBSD seems more stable and reliable in the long run, while linux always gets software and hardwaer support first, making it better for desktops IMHO... everytime someone posts a article explaining this with good reasoning and evidence, slashdot ends up the battlefront for a flame war... at least this is a good test for the new servers.
