The laptop I got had the EULA outside of the package, so I completely knowingly and willingly submitted my soul to MS... I want to use the DVD drive...
The DaimlerChrysler corporation, maker of the Mercedes brand of luxury cars, has filed a lawsuit against Intel for illegal use of a trademark. DaimlerChrysler's lawyers have decided that the name of the Merced processor, developed by Intel, does not simply coincide with the first six letters of the famous brand name, but is an attempt to exploit the positive associations consumers may have developed in regards to the quality, speed, and reliability of the world reknown Mercedes automobiles.
The two companies, however, managed to come to a resolution before the courts would give any ruling. According to the signed agreement, the tri-pronged Mercedes star will be situated on all Merced processors next to the DaimlerChrysler logo, and, next to the Intel Inside sticker, a Mercedes sticker will be required on all CPUs based on the Merced processor.
In turn, the new Mercedes 900 will be built with an on-board computer, based on an Intel processor and running Linux, and a silver ornament Intel Inside will be put on the hood. It was decided to refrain from Microsoft products, as having to add the Designed for Windows 2000 logo on the hood was deemed beneath the creators of Merced and Mercedes.
And here is the CyberDojo :-)
Still FUD - do you believe that NT "as available on 1/1/99" is significantly better than Linux? Yet this is what the chart shows...
