Did anyone else look at that crap checklist on how to get prepaired for y2k? Come on, Y2K doesn't mean there is going to be a panty shortage and the food list looked like you should be feeding an army.
Anyone who gets into this end of the world when the computers come a crashing deserves to be left in the dark ages.
The real test doesn't come from who sponsors the test but if it can be reproduced. I think another team needs to try the test again with the same configuration and see if they get the same results.
We, as a community, should also be on the lookout for any configuration option that could have been changed to make Linux work faster. It could be that they wanted to ruin Linux with a crappy config.
The same kind of moron who thinks that just by reading a text file, you too can catch a virus.
The said part is that IT professionals must deal with this sort of thing everyday. In my shop, I've told people that if they run a file they recieved as an attachment, there SOL because I'm not going to drop everything to help them.
