Bill Gates labeled this as Linux's problem?

Didn't Bill Gates say a few weeks ago in an article linked off of/. that one of Linux's problems was how spread out the information is and something like only the guru's really know how to find stuff?
I am not a MS fan...but you can't say that Bill Gates doesn't know his shit when it comes down to competition and dealing with customers...he does hold the majority of the market share...still....for now.
We need a good Linux community call to action and band together on one good information site...this is why I totally support the fact that RedHat wanted to make a large Linux portal. They could gather info better than most as a big company.
I'd begin by patching wu-ftpd or replacing it with glftpd. I am pro glftpd. Also, what distribution are you running. I run glftpd and wu-ftp(with all the patches) and someone got through the wu-ftp through the back door but I had a nice perl script set up to tcp blast anyone that did what he did. Mofo never had time to mess with my machine.
So, the question is...was Tux there to draw us Linux lovers in?? because I founmd nothing on Linux there...but I gave up quickly...what did y`all find?
Ya know...I am under the belief that if you committ to volunteer...you can pull out any time. Also, if you are volunteering...there is no "you have to do so much work." My neighbor did that for AOL and they sent him enough work to be busyt for like 8-10 hrs a week....he said he did 30% of it at most and still got the free access. I guess he'd be the perfect person for defense of AOL. I think its the incompetent that get suckered into doing more work than they need to and bitch about it.
I am always up for competition....its part of capitalism...so I say good job to 3com for letting other people compete with them. They proved they made the newest best product that is too damn expensive...now lets improve it and lower the price.
This whole issue brought about a new question for me:
When they set up this Linux machine....did they actually have someone who knew how to set up a Linux box. If you take Linus Torvalds Redhat 5.2 (I'd say he knows how to set up a Linux machine) box versus any Microsoft Professionals' setup of an NT station...I would like to see that test.
Just my thoughts on the next time they test performance
Ya know...the dummie company I bought my DVD player from gave me Xing DVD software which never worked on the Win side (which just meant I booted into windows even less) and I got them to send me another copy which didn't work. So, I never was a fan. Maybe Real will improve something.
Doom made me soo violent I wanted to go kill every mutated beast out there...so after buying a big expensive RPG-8000 (or whatever...I haven't played in such a long time) I went hunting the mutants and never found any. Then I got the barney addition to the game...Needless to say, I am still hunting down thast purple crackhead.

just my $.02
I believe in the...if you don't have anything intelligent to say...don't say anything at all..
you just make yourself sound like an ass if you are unsubstantiated.
Maybe I am just putting Linux on too many of those computers "Designed for Windows 95"
My problem is...I know how to fix computers but MS machines seem to freeze in fear when they see me...
I was once a script kiddie until i learned to channel my powers for $50-100/hr

Thank you for setting the record straight. I enjoy reading articles that like that are not sponsored by either side and are fairly objective.
As long as Rob gets what he wants (described in that last line) I'd be happy too!
Sounds awesome!
The only question I have is. Who is more suited to battle MS...Corel, or Red Hat?
Gotta be Lycos faithful as a Pittsburgher :) They don't pull that stuff and they also host lots of cool movies..
my 2 cents
Answer me this....
Does the population of computer users who truly excel in the field prefer Linux or Windows?
How quickly is that population growing?
(I should be a reporter)
That damn site had shown major /.effect...lag...

Ya know...I only want to see more cold fusion if Elisabeth Shue is in it...cause....damn..she is fine!
