Opera 7.0 is set by default to identify itself as MSIE 6.0. This can be switched back to identify as Opera (or even Mozilla) but most users won't bother.

Does anti-spamming really work? The administrators and users of SpamCop, SpamAssassin, etc. should back off for one 24-hour period. Let the spam roll in. If it truly would be a "lot, lot, lot worse" without spam-fighters, the happy fallout will be that thousands of indifferent users who respond to spam with "JHD" (Just Hit Delete) will see how bad it's become. Maybe they'll join the spam-fighting ranks, or at least demand a solution.
I am on the New York "no call" list, which is an initiative that's about a year old now. I will most undoubtedly curse myself by saying this, but the program has been very effective. The big negative is, I do miss being able to vent when idiots call... I will just have to take out my agression in more constructive ways. Looks like California is considering something similar. Predictably, telemarketers are fighting it tooth and nail:
(Of course, ``email'' has been a familiar word in France, Germany, and the Netherlands much longer than in England --- but for an entirely different reason.)
Pretty cool. I checked out 4 random books at both Amazon.com and Bookpool.com (Developing Linux Applications, Linux Application Development, Linux Device Drivers, LINUX Kernel Internals). The lot, including ground shipping, costs $133 on Amazon vs. $113 on Bookpool. Only problem I see offhand is availability--Linux Device Drivers is out of stock at Bookpool.:(
I disagree! The post production SFX are a nice touch.
I agree that taking phone comments is an excellent idea. Wish I would have thought of that in my college radio days. It certainly would have worked if we actually had listeners.
How about a crossover to "real" radio? I'm sick of listening to those Motley Fool guys.
