    Informix is out on linux. We user both 7.3 and 9.2 (UDT Support) here at work to run our PubSystem. It is a 24/7 operation and Informix has been great.

    I am a programmer by trade, but I have done a little web work. And the company that I work for does A LOT. We have two photo editors that are testig useing Linux as their workstation OS, using Netscape, KWrite and the Gimp they have been able to do everything needed. I dont really see where Photoshop or Corel Draw X has an advantage over The Gimp.

    Maybe not so much about the internet, but I would have to put my vote behind the Tao of programming (it is hanging on my wall) This book/doc is a required reading for all incoming cs majors. Also, the Zen isn't bad either

    Here at SIU where I goto school, they just put 100Mbit eithernet to all the rooms in one of a older dorms. Got to love that. The whole dorm is full of CS and EE majors now. Too bad it not Co-Ed.

    This is what Linux needs. For the last 2 years everyone has been saying that the key to linux is to get major apps (like WP) on linux. I use Wp on linux, and I can see that it needs some work, But this is what we need, even without the source.
