Just to let you all know right now. we (kof and darink) are going to win this thing. we have been training for many days and have built up the needed amount of diet coke to win well before the monday deadline. no one else stands a chance.
i will allow you all to behold our greatness once the results are out...
Informix is out on linux. We user both 7.3 and 9.2 (UDT Support) here at work to run our PubSystem. It is a 24/7 operation and Informix has been great.
I am a programmer by trade, but I have done a little web work. And the company that I work for does A LOT. We have two photo editors that are testig useing Linux as their workstation OS, using Netscape, KWrite and the Gimp they have been able to do everything needed. I dont really see where Photoshop or Corel Draw X has an advantage over The Gimp.

Maybe not so much about the internet, but I would have to put my vote behind the Tao of programming (it is hanging on my wall) This book/doc is a required reading for all incoming cs majors. Also, the Zen isn't bad either

Here at SIU where I goto school, they just put 100Mbit eithernet to all the rooms in one of a older dorms. Got to love that. The whole dorm is full of CS and EE majors now. Too bad it not Co-Ed.
This is what Linux needs. For the last 2 years everyone has been saying that the key to linux is to get major apps (like WP) on linux. I use Wp on linux, and I can see that it needs some work, But this is what we need, even without the source.
We all remember when he also said that no one could ever use more then 640K. And then there was that interview when he said that he didn't think that the net would "catch on"

Its holds all of that, and then some...
Single point of failure, true, but a single point of failure with redundant EVERYTHING, and recorded uptimes over 2 decades.
a bit for thought

Could someone put up a URl that explains the new things in IPv6?
