We seem to be stuck working with outdated ideas. Espousing the virtues of systems that have failed. Every point of view will create slanderous propaganda about the other. Neither will be entirely accurate. It might be considered naive to think that everyone will want to be socialist or capitalist. Each of these systems has good points as well as bad. Capitalism does a poor job of distribution of wealth and health, as well as being inherently confrontational and violent. Communism doesn't not promote innovation and leads to stagnation of growth. Socialism does not address the issues of group focus and reward for creation. We all like to be rewarded and recognized for our work. We also like new ideas. We like possibilities. We like to disagree. It might be considered naive to think that everyone will want to be socialist, communist, or capitalist. We must, therefore, assume that these two systems will continue to interact. It is only by watching that interaction carefully, not the propaganda of each, that we may find a common ground that might work. Be original. Pay attention to what does work, not how the other systems don't jive with your ideas. Be careful to pay close attention to how each system fails it's people. Make sure we don't repeat those mistakes. I don't pretend to have a system of government or non-government that does work, but, I won't pretend that any of those in use today does work. When the United States where formed, it was a great experiment. This experiment has failed in as many ways as it has succeeded. As a citizen of this country it is my duty, in exchange for the freedom given me, to help make this country what it should be, an equitable and free country for all of us. We can make it work. It is not by slandering others or pretending failures are caused by those opposed to the current system that it will happen. But, by using the open system first created by our founders, which demands responsibility from each citizen, to actively make it work. To all of those who think they can't make a difference. I say, you can't. You have already been defeated. To those who are still free in mind, I say, this country needs an overhaul. You can make a difference. We need new ideas and yours is just as good as theirs.
