They never gave a d**n about scientific learning of the masses, they've always only protected their own wealth and power. And the best way to do so it keeping the people in subjugation, ignorance and superstition.
Better specs? Does it come with free/open firmware? With no un-replaceable hard-coded bootloader crypto-keys? With hardware that has free software drivers and does not need proprietary firmware blobs?
If it does not, it does not have "better specs" according to the Librem's primary concern: "A Free/Libre Software Laptop That Respects Your Essential Freedoms".
