If well the article says less informed than consumers of other news sources, maybe the title wording is more correct. Maybe for giving biased, partial, or plain wrong information you know actually less watching it than passing that time i.e. walking or sleeping. Is nice to see negative amount of information in real life.

Unless you are not from US, in a democracy you elect the government to represent you. Is the implicit will of the citizens as a whole that they be there and do whatever they do. Even if you voted for an opposite party or didnt vote. If not, is not a democracy.

Regarding crimes, not sure about current batch of leaks so far, but in this decade were plenty of crimes that ultimately came from US government to choose from.

I don't care about how our size, or our reach into space, compares with galactic distances. Probably most if not all intelligent life in the universe are falling into the same category of small, if our understanding of physics is basically right.

But i would be worried if our small reach is in time, both in the survival sense or in the thinking one. As species we are more worried about getting a fast profit than the effects of our behaviour for what will become the world in 50, 100 or more years (and that, without even touching odds of global catastrophes like asteroid hit or runaway climate change, just social changes could be as destructive for us)

Considering that several of US government misconducts reported on those and previous leaks resulted in the killing of hundreds to millons innocent people elsewhere (plus harming, tortured, prived of freedom, etc) letting that pass and killing the messenger will mean that even more innocent people will die. And that should weight more than soldiers, missions and security doing things that probably US citizens would not approve (like i.e. this kind of things)
