Shooting the messenger will become too expensive and evident if the movement have too much messengers to shoot. Of course, they could start taking other ways of action.
No freedom of information means no freedom of choice. You could hang the label you want over the governments after that gets passed, but none would really be democracy.
If well the article says less informed than consumers of other news sources, maybe the title wording is more correct. Maybe for giving biased, partial, or plain wrong information you know actually less watching it than passing that time i.e. walking or sleeping. Is nice to see negative amount of information in real life.
In books you have to start deleting back to Oedipus the King and kill most of the literature in all the path. And if that trend goes to movies, well, you will have to go back to the future. And there you could see the dangers of rewriting history.
Well, Visa and Mastercard supports racism openly (at least in KKK site you can collaborate paying thru those cards). Maybe in US even Obama approves KKK as much as disapproves Wikileaks, you know, national culture or something like that.
Probably Slashdot stories about Amazon denying hosting to Wikileaks harmed more the company than the combined Anonymous attack. There is no firewall against social attacks.
Unless you are not from US, in a democracy you elect the government to represent you. Is the implicit will of the citizens as a whole that they be there and do whatever they do. Even if you voted for an opposite party or didnt vote. If not, is not a democracy.
Regarding crimes, not sure about current batch of leaks so far, but in this decade were plenty of crimes that ultimately came from US government to choose from.
The damage of that info being known will be MORE damaging that what US did and keep doing as reported there and in previous leaks? Maybe leaking and giving US citizens a chance to be aware force a change in direction would be the lesser of two evils.
I don't care about how our size, or our reach into space, compares with galactic distances. Probably most if not all intelligent life in the universe are falling into the same category of small, if our understanding of physics is basically right.
But i would be worried if our small reach is in time, both in the survival sense or in the thinking one. As species we are more worried about getting a fast profit than the effects of our behaviour for what will become the world in 50, 100 or more years (and that, without even touching odds of global catastrophes like asteroid hit or runaway climate change, just social changes could be as destructive for us)
That denial of service attack is working pretty well, even if will take a bit more time to make snow to basically dissapear. Outside 4chan, that DDoS attack is called Global Warming.
... is that you end seeing real people as dummies too. Is not "game over" anymore, but that a real life was lost, or that will have to live x amount of years without an arm or things like that.
Science of Discworld series are already a collaboration. And Good Omens wasnt bad, even if not based on Discworld. If well i doubt too that someone else could do something comparable with Pratchett work on Discworld, who knows, maybe someone could. Dune and Foundation had people that continued those series with not very horrible results.
Considering that several of US government misconducts reported on those and previous leaks resulted in the killing of hundreds to millons innocent people elsewhere (plus harming, tortured, prived of freedom, etc) letting that pass and killing the messenger will mean that even more innocent people will die. And that should weight more than soldiers, missions and security doing things that probably US citizens would not approve (like i.e. this kind of things)

you use windows in your desktop computers? Then the phone is the least of your actual risks.
Women used to say that men need a map to find the clit. Now they have one.

Im not saying that all the moronic idiots are the viewers of fox news. Could exist moronic idiots that watch other news sources.

Scotland Yard is close to capture the leader of the Anonymous group, someone called John Doe.
We are reserving Assange for the Nobel Peace Prize. The fun part will be if his plane stops in Sweden when going to receive it.
Maybe if that 4% If is the upper one, the one that took bad choices in the past

MS tribe keeps communicating with vapor signals.
Here in slashdot laughing at someone else pickup lines? Pot calling the kettle black?
Of all the bullets used to shoot the messenger, that particular one should not be used here.

Following that author, an even better name could be Blue Butterfly
when this feature gets called Google Clippy.

Windows already was based on algorithms based on ants... or maybe other kind of bugs

This is inverse 3D... instead of what we want to see from all the possible points of view, we have what is around the camera.in a plain view
I prefer the approach of the cameras surrounding the action in the first Trinity scene in Matrix.
