How can it be out of context if you don't even understand their motivation? I think it's GREAT that you don't know "everything about a character"; you have to just accept that they are doing what they need to do. You don't know why the guy down the street does what he does... and as was stated earlier I think the writter wanted these people to have a millitary bend.

Okay first off we are in a "future" timeline. But since the modem is from our time I'll give you that one. I remember that Miramar just changed hands (within the last ten years I think) so why couldn't it change again or maybe the navy took over the Marines in this timeline (being a jarhead myself, I find that idea replusive...but very possible) And the "modem/walkie talkie" was talking to an orbiting space base (the ship) and you don't know how sensitive it's reciever was or earths for that matter...

Is a statement really an opiniion? And when you state your "opinions" as facts then your asking for a flame. It's your fault you are getting flamed IF: 1. you word it in a nasty/rude way or 2. your "facts" fly in the face of what has already been "proven" in general opinion. If you had a litle more discipline and didn't fly of the handle, at the drop of a hat, you might not have people making you feel "inferior". As for making a million dollars... big deal. Money should help you, not be your goal. As for the "freedoms" we enjoy... your attitude is the reason we are in danger of losing them.

"..I mean, its not like anyone surfs .edu sites only..." So if we only sometimes read a book then it's okay to censor it? Besides that, peacefire simply said... "hey there's a big problem here" if you care or not is your bussiness. But Symantic threatened legal action...and if they care that much then there must be something to it.

You took mine! :) 'Lord of Light' is one of the best tales I have ever heard. And like another reply said just about anything else he wrote makes a good read too.

I Don't. The problem with the U.S. is that people with that view point have no problem allowing others to be silenced. As long as YOU are not silenced when YOU want to crawl up on the soap box. No one forces you to read E-Mails. And if you don't trust your childeren enough to make an informed choice on material like this then you should monitor what they have access to. Your the parent. I'm not; nor is the state. This means YOU have the job of protecting your kids. I shouldn't suffer just because someone wants to hide the world from a child. I hate to sound a wake up call but the USA is NOT Disneyland...

I defend my enemies right to speak because if I don't no one will protect my right to speak.
