Can you provide some evidence that the wimmin and minorities are neither motivated nor qualified?
Wait, are you one of the "wimmin" spelling women? For some reason, I can't get into this at all. True, I'm a dude, but it's somewhere more annoying than nails on a chalkboard, and almost as annoying as enormous ear gauges. Like, "yay, we can spell 'women' without 'men' now!" No, not.
Sounds like an opportunity for MySpace to try to reclaim some of that territory. Anybody know if MySpace has the chops to turn this into a good thing for them?
just as I enjoy true hamburgers and the meat sandwich you can eat at a McDonald's.
*shudder* Oh, wow... that stuff is just nasty.
Got completely disgusted by that over a decade ago. Couldn't possibly do it again.
Well, if you are sick of living, you can try the purveyors of pretty much the best damn burger you will ever have: at Five Guys. You will still feel like crap afterwards, probably because the fries they give you are enough to clog the arteries of an olympic marathoner, but sooooo gooooood... And no, I have no affiliation with them. They seem to be all over the US and also in Canada.
Do you people really think that the same corporations that have given us an epidemic of obesity due to heavily manipulated wheat products and overall the trash in the food supply will tell you that GMOs are even worse?
Firstly, the food supply has been heavily manipulated for many years through selective breeding. I won't defend the use of GMOs, but it is only the latest round in the bio-wars. It's sort of like fracking--everything can be done "safely" until there is an accident or unintended consequence. Do you believe the corporations and FDA can and will keep the food supply safe? Well, it's better than the old days, but still not where it could be.
The main reason I'm writin though, is I believe the obesity epidemic has very little to do with wheat product manipulation, and a whole lot to do with formulation of prepared foods, super-sized promotion of soft drinks, insane portion sizes, and the fact that high fructose corn syrup is in everything. See also: sedentary lifestyle. Anyway, have a nice day..
Nearly 200 posts and nobody has asked the most important question!
^--- This. Sorry, no mod points for you. Sadly, I do not recall the proper specifications for what size weight I should drop upon my attacker. Is 2000 lbs. sufficient?
... If you're ni the IC (Intelligence Community), following rules set out is part of your job.
Ah, you must think you are pretty clever hiding that carefully coded message in your post. Well, I will see your "ni" and raise you a shrubbery.
(ducks to avoid missles)
One of the better organizations I worked for if someone was significantly lower than the mean -- then they were "counceled out". There will always be some people that are not meant for the position they hold, and you have to move them out and make that position available to someone that can fit in. If you start holding onto everyone that is below average, your organization will sink and not excel. Any responsibility the organization has to it's employees is to keep it healthy and vibrant for the majority....
I worked for a company that illustrates this point exactly. Due to various management issues, all of the "good" people would leave after a few years, but the lesser lights would stick around. Hardly anyone was ever fired or laid off. Eventually the whole site shut down.
What, you thought MSNBC was level, objective, and centered? They're every bit as much a mouthpiece for the left as Fox is for the right. The rest of the media leans left as well. There is no objective journalism anymore, it's all out propaganda war.
Oh, and you forgot to spell it "faux".
With the idealogical drift in the US, MSNBC is considered "left", but in worldwide terms I think "center-left" would be more accurate. For the actual left, try Democracy Now... but we'll accept "MSNBC is a mouthpiece for the Dems" as a correct answer. Thanks fer playin!
No, youtube does not do massive copyright theft. Some people using youtube violate copyright law.
There is a difference.
I"M sorry, but you just sound like a whiny douche the is angry because they can no longer abuse a free service to sell their music.
The music is given away free. What YouTube has done is undermine the market for downloaded/streaming music. Of course, they aren't the ones violating copyright, but they aren't enforcing it at all either. If I were an artist who did not want my work distributed on YT or any of a million streaming sites, I would have to spend a lot of time sending takedown notices, probably all my time.
The industry has been screwing over the artists for many years. Now it's just a slightly different industry.
YouTube continues the massive copyright theft on a daily basis. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but every other day John Q Fanboy uploads his entire collection to YT. Then all of us "fans" get to stream our favorite albums for free, yay.:-| Are the artists getting paid? (crickets) But.. they're famous musicians therefore they must be rich already, right?
So I get to stream XTC just like it was 1983...
Somewhere "don't be evil" went out the window. This is different from Spotify how?
I have open source code (about 13k lines of c/c++ for embedded platform) and I happen to interview 'badly' when I am put on the spot and asked to code up something in 15 minutes while someone watches me. that's not how I work and I fail horribly at THAT style of interview.
Yes, this sucks to be sure. I have developed a level of comfort with "public perfomance" in different areas, e.g. musical and otherwise. Doing this sort of thing might be very useful to you. See also: Toastmasters or some public speaking thing.... but if you liked those things already, you would be in sales. Ha.
Alternatively, leverage your personal network as much as possible. Study for interviews and express a knowledge of the company's business and technical area(s). Also, practice coding in front of a whiteboard, with people watching you, naked, on the subway. It may seem like a waste of time, but in your case it will likely help... and oh, the naked on the subway part may vary depending on local ordinances.

P.S. I also consider myself a feminist.

Is that pre-tenderized baby seal? Clubbed only with certifed Zircon encrusted baby seal clubs?

I call patent firsties!!!
So.... they had the manual with passwords....
this is hacked.... how?
Same way I hacked my VCR so it doesn't flash 12:00 anymore!
Wait.. what? You can do that?
I have debugged in the hallway of a gastroenterology clinic. Fun times.
No, that's what's wrong with people claiming to use agile methods and in reality just acting without plan and reason :)
What are these things of which you speak? This "plan" and "reason"?

.. with hot tub. What could possibly go wrong?
No steering wheel means cup holders everywhere, right? Next to the bar.
Rob Ford is a good source material for jokes. He should get some form of immunity.
Yes, think of the comics!
Like when you are walking behind a guy with long hair and think she might be kinda hot. Doh!

Only the higher security prisons are private, I believe. The county jail where I am (somewhat rural Ohio) is still staffed by county employees.
So? What'd ya get? They let you surf /. in county?
Yay, it's like Y2K every day!
Huffpo Canada story
that does not work. I tried, many MANY times.
