  1. debate.slashdot.org on Human Genome Confirms Evolution · · Score: 1

    Anyone ever consider creating debate.slashdot.org?

    Something along the lines of
    • Each 'news' item gets it's own debate area
    • Any user can create a 'side' to the debate
    • Moderators can determine if 'sides' are applicaple or not
    • For each 'side' users can post comments, links to supporting information (web sites, books, etc), and related debate stuff
    • 'Sides' should have summary posts every so often
    • Similar to a poll, users can select a 'side' or otherwise agree/disagree with each 'side'
    • Users can post replies to refute stuff, but such replies should be well written, and should get properly moderated
    • Anything else people can think of related to debates.

  2. Re:Andrew Meggs? That's the same guy who... on Half-Life for Macintosh Cancelled · · Score: 1

I suppose you could do a port of Half-Life between April and September of the same year? Regardless of Meggs 'political statement' or personal reasons, the man knows his stuff. Is your name listed in the credits for the RC5 project?
Check out his information on one of his previous projects which includes some notes on working on the Half-Life port. Also check his .plan (andrew@logicware.com) for some of his comments.
Just because the port was canceled doesn't mean the team (or person) doing the port is incapable of producing a good product.
