Your billers have to pay about 24 cents to send you each bill. The average Joe gets maybe 10 bills/month, so the businesses billing Joe spend about $2.40/month on postage.
Joe then has to send back a check for each of these 10 bills at the full first class postage rate at 33 cents (small guys never get a break!) so this costs him $3.30/ month.
So a total of 20 letters/month/household or $5.70/ month could be replaced.
I don't know about others, but my houshold dosent and probably never will write 20 personal letters per month.
Therefore, E-mail will not cuase the post office to become a dinosuar, but Electronic Bill presentment might.
