I travel regularly on long flights and have actively sought out airlines with an internet connection. To be able to be on-line working has meant that a day on an airplane has been a productive day - I'm sad to see this service disappear.
I use a Jabber client on my Treo650. Does what it is supposed to - but since not many bytes are sent during a 'chat' I guess there is no money in that for the operators.
When I have scanned the old family albums I would like to sit down with my parents (both 90 and in good shape) and have them tell the stories behind the old pictures. Then burn CD's for their 9 grandchildren. Any suggestions on what software to use to add sound?
For us in Europe they run a avery efficient service from England. I have used them regularly and have been impressed with their efficiency, but as soon as news of their action was published I wrote to them to explain why I had to stop doing business with them.

I live in Sweden - we have saunas. A good place to read - even have some issues of Byte still in there. Life would be fantastic if there were NEW issues of Byte.
Same system is used when ice skating (cross country) in Scandinavia. You must carry your line in a bag you can throw. Works well.

But having no Walmart (I live in Sweden) and paying way too much for most things is not much fun. I'd rather have Walmart.

And when us customers have moved our purchases to other suppliers - how grateful will the Amazon shareholders be?
Amazon shareholders want Amazon to become valuable. Few companies have done that by earning the disrespect of their customers.
In Sweden the postoffice charges only a nominal fee for all the zip-codes on a disk.
Probably they figure their cost of incorrectly addressed mail is what really costs.
No - the action of Amazon is extreme.
