Basing productivity on lines-of-code is like driving from LA to Boston, by way of Mexico City an efficient trip. Remember, it is not the trip, but rather the destination.
I personally believe that a lazy programmer == a good designer == a great programmer. Being lazy forces one to use Occam's Razor and one's mind to cut out the dreck and inefficiencies.
Things are worked out in my head and notebooks before they EVER see a keyboard. And less lines og code result with more elegance, reliability, reusability and maintainablity.
