  1. Dont forget $100pm to this one as well. on SCO Preparing Linux Licensing Program · · Score: 1

Id like to point out to all those PHB's who sign up for this licensing deal that although a SCO license will grnt them use of SCO intellectual property, there is more required.

Please sign up for MyLicensing(tm) as well - only $99.95 per month via direct debit / wire transfer / paypal into my personal bank account grants you full rights to use any of My own IP that may (or may not) be part of the linux distribution that you are using.

Whats $99.95 for a little peace of mind ?

  2. Your requirements analysis needs a tune-up on Can .NET Really Scale? · · Score: 1

What you are really saying is :
"My requirements are to support 100's of users for 20k". - All the other info about having a single server, or using .NET or anything else is just noise which is corrupting your real requirement.

20K on ebay would buy you some serious not-too old SUN equipment, or a whole roomful of late model HP netservers.

20K at your local puta DIY store would build about 30 sleek new Athlon boxes (say, 2500 Barton, way-fast ECS L7S7A2 mobo, 1GB 400MHz DDR, 40GB IDE disk).

With such a computer room, a savvy tech could conceivably take over the whole world.

Talk to Microsoft about getting a version of ASP/.NET/MSSQL for the big-iron SUN machines, or doing a special licence deal for a 30CPU Athlon cluster .. hmmm.

  3. How to fail an interview on How Should You Interview a Programmer? · · Score: 1
I remember a few years ago being stuck in an interview, and realizing that I did not want the job (A 'Linux' job that involved using Visual Studio, and writing code in VB), thought it might be fun getting rejected :

    • So, where are you working now ?
    • Well I dont exactly have a job now because in my last job I had problems with my fucking boss.
    • Er, excuse me ?
    • Yeah, I had problems with my boss.
    • I see, what happened there ?
    • The asshole, he tried to go over my head, see ? I said to him 'Dont you ever go over my head again, you motherfucker, or Ill fucking bury you, and your whole fucking family with you, capiche ?', after that I fuckin walked, didnt I
    • I see

Suffice to say, I was offered the job the next day, which I respectfully declined - stupid motherfuckers.
