  1. Consider the source on Apple to charge Licensing Fees for FireWire · · Score: 1

Yes, but Intel is only an investor...C|Net runs on Suns.

  2. DOH! on Apple to charge Licensing Fees for FireWire · · Score: 1

These companies just can't leave well enough alone can they? Why must greed kill good ideas and innovation? I just don't get it.

  3. Ideal Computer on PC software so bad, BugNet refuses to post award · · Score: 1

It was nice, but a-la the Mac was a niche product. It really didn't have a chance to evolve into a great machine that everybody could use.

  4. Who Wins? on PC software so bad, BugNet refuses to post award · · Score: 1

Not so bad anymore, but x86 2.5.1 was a nightmare and their hardware lists were horribly tight.

  5. Crippled by Intel on New SGI Intel Boxes Officially Released · · Score: 1

Ultrasparc? Talk about crippling. Those are so sluggish and really, really expensive.

    Well put.

  7. new SGI boxes vs. new Apple boxes on New SGI Intel Boxes Officially Released · · Score: 1

But the new Apple boxes are butt-ugly and if I had to choose a sucky, lousy OS I'd take NT over MacOS anyday - I'd rather have neither. Make a linux comparison ad the SGI still wins due to the fac that LinuxPPC and MkLinus aren't up to speed with the x86 version.

  8. Where can I get an O2? on PC style as important as Clock Speed · · Score: 1

You should contact SGI in your area...they'll refer you to a reseller.

  9. KDE... on Linux at the Macworld Expo · · Score: 1

Jeeze...just a suggestion for those needing something of a warm and fuzzzy desktop. Part of your slowness could be due to the LinuxPPC dist. which is not quite up to speed with the x86 Linux versions.

As for your last comment, I too have work to get done and my Mac doesn't cut it (not to mention my NT box...ugh)...that's why I've switched to Linux for good.

  10. Priceless! on Linux at the Macworld Expo · · Score: 1

You should look into KDE my friend. It's about as touchy-feely with consistency as you can get.
