[Oops, didn't mean to post as AC.] "Sheltered" implies I had never heard of them. I did. I just wasn't interested... ET sounded like a cute enough kids' movie, but not being a little kid at the time, I passed.

I won't say I'm "proud" of it, but that AC isn't the only one. Sheltered? I like to think I'm just not as easily entertained as some. I've seen short bits of E.T. on TV before flipping the channel, but I certainly never sat through the whole thing and, since neither of my nephews owned an Atari, I've never played on an Atari console in my life. I probably used an Atari PC or two "back in the day" before the "IBM PC" and Macintosh took over the world, but I'm getting old and my memory is getting a bit fuzzy. :p

Because the cat was out of the bag? If you're planting contraband on someone's computer to get them imprisoned, and they figure out they've been compromised, you abandon your shitty operation and run for the hills.

Just like the DA drops the charges and "runs for the hills" when you say "hey, that's not my dope, the cops must've planted it there!" It's her word against theirs, and so far, her claims don't seem to be passing the laugh test.

Yes, whatever did become of those "'classified' documents"? If they were a trick to indict her, why hasn't she been indicted, 2 years later? Why does she say so little about them? Why doesn't she identify them? Why doesn't she say what happened when she reported them to the FBI and her local police authorities?

I was a bit concerned to see a Slashdot post based on a NY Post fluff piece (yes, this is the Post's idea of a fluff piece) to begin with, but that aside... "purely an attempt to let me know that they could do that, that they were watching, that they were in my computer." Ri-i-i-ght. Because then she couldn't just wipe her hard drive or go out and buy another computer and learn how to secure it better. If "the government", or at least the parts that spy on people, were that incompetent, none of use would have anything to worry about.
