There are several options for free X-servers on Windows. The easiest is WeirdX, a free Java X-Server. I've tried it, the performance is acceptable. You can also use Cygwin (free distribution of the GNU-toolchain that runs under Windows), then compile and run XFree86. Or just use VNC.
