I remeber reading that the majority of the universe is made of "Dark matter" or things like black holes that we can not obverve directly because they are not emissive. If this is the case, then the changes in course could be small cumulitive effects from lot of dark matter gravitational interactions...
Or maybe they just forgot to convert from pounds to kilograms again.
