  1. Wait- you're saying that Apple stuff costs more than competing products? Color me shocked!

  2. Interesting, you seem to have dropped your insistance that I must have a felony conviction in order for me to be arrested if I try to go and vote Tromp.

No, I think you've indicted yourself capably there. And I don't know who "Tromp" is, so try again.

  3. "...with one study reporting that 50% of American faces are already in a government database"

I'd be surprised if it was only 50%. Just between the DMV and Facebook (which the NSA admits they mine for data) I think it'd be higher than that.

There are about 214 million licensed drivers in the U.S. according to Statista (https://www.statista.com/statistics/191653/number-of-licensed-drivers-in-the-us-since-1988/). That's about 67% of the 319 million people in the US as of 2014.

If the NSA admits to mining Facebook, it's reasonable to think they're probably mining other social media sites like Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc etc.

Add Facebook and all the other social media sites that get mined and I wouldn't be surprised to find 80 or 85% of American faces are in a government database.

  4. I wonder what felony you think I've been convicted of.

If I had to guess, I'd probably say child molesting or rape. Or being an AI nutter.

Well, shit, that's four pregnancies for every hundred copulations; I wouldn't call a four-percent failure rate "effective". I'd call it a sure thing. It's like Russian Roulette with orgasms.

I mean, if an airplane had a "successful" landing rate of 96%, would you fly on it?

To put it another way, would you eat at a restaurant where four out of every hundred people got sick from the food? I wouldn't.

A 4% failure rate is nothing to brag about. It's better than condoms (12%) but you're still going to be making babies left and right.

  6. Don't worry you'll figure it out soon enough. It's not a very hard puzzle

Nah, I don't waste my time on trivia. The fact that you're a felon doesn't change my opinion of you.

Frankly I'm just doing this to push your buttons, but it's just too easy. I can even force you to reply because you simply can't help yourself, can you?

What about running costs? The cost to fly an F35 for one hour is much, much higher than that of an A10.

I agree completely, and you're making my point for me. Did you perhaps misread what I wrote?

  14. The problem is that the A10 is simply a much better plane than the F35. I doubt that the one size fits all aspect of the 35 will allow it to ever have competency in any of it's planned missions.

Exactly. The F-35 is a jack-of-all-trades, and apparently a master of none.

Because this time it would be real and the majority of people would know deep down it was true, regardless of what their religion said. Some might choose to ignore it or disbelieve, but most would accept it as a fact.

A lot of people who claim to believe in god don't really believe in god. But I bet most people would believe in SETI signals if they were well-verified and a majority of scientists who understood this stuff agreed and supported the findings.

That said, I don't think it would necessarily reform society, but it might shift the mindset considerably in some areas. It wouldn't stop murder or genocide or wars, but it might help spark more self-awareness in people in general, and that's the start of empathy, cooperation, etc. It would also gives all the cranks an "other" to hate that wasn't a human person or group.

Windows 10 is constantly "semi-forgetting" networks, so it shows the network as visible, but won't autoconnect. Sometimes a reboot fixes it, but the usual solution is to forget the network and then rejoin, sometimes with a reboot.

I don't use Win 10 but I have several friends that report the same thing. It just drops the connection randomly. Some people step away for a moment and come back and the connection is visible but no longer connected.

Oftentimes reentering the password doesn't work (it always says it's "wrong", even when we know damn well it's been entered correctly). As you mention, they usually have to to forget the network and then rediscover/rejoin it. This happens with both laptops and desktops.
