So, you're talking about Amiga MUI here, not Motif. Agreed, these features sound really cool, so why don't you just help them hack these features into GTK+/Qt ?
No, they can't be dead. Or how could the Camel book sell so well if most stuff is in the perl man pages ? Actually, this is IMHO for two reasons: a) You can take the book around, so you can read wherever you want. b) If you ever found yourself having six or more VTs open just because you need information on some language feature or whatever, you'll probably know how much you wished for something printed on paper that moment.
McGrath responded to this scenario: a student uses a campus Internet connection to decide which political candidates to support. That person is misusing university equipment, she said, just as if she used her legislative office phone to make long-distance personal phone calls.
What strikes me here is: A student "ab"uses a campus internet connection to decide which [...] candidates to support. Does this mean she doesn't want people to know who they are going to vote ????
Just this question: Why should nukes have Y2K problems ? I don't see anything (besides authentication needs) which would make it neccessary for nuke control systems to use the date. And even if authentication broke down, these things should simply lie around as they used to and not go off.
After having read the article, I just tried what would happen if I asked lycos for yahoo. When reading the answers, I actually got a link to yahoo which worked perfectly for me. (If you wanna know: I've been using the german lycos page and it linked me to yahoo.de. I have not checked their other services for this.)
Satellite Radio isn't that new as this article implies. Actually, I've been receiving radio programmes from satellite for some years now, in CD quality via so-called ADR and DSR tuners. I don't know whether these don't exist in the USA or are just unknown, but they're available in Europe and get their data from the Astra Satellites.
I have looked into linuxhq.com and now it says: "For information regarding copying and distribution of this material see the COPYING document." This COPYING document is exactly the GPL. Have they changed it or did I miss something ?

Seems like all these theories are true ... let's wait for the announcements.
