My personal theory is that there's a lot more interest in Ted Stevens thanks to his "intertubes"... (Him being a lot more prominent is obviously another factor.)
Personally, if the press actually went "deeper" into Bill Ayers, etc., my opinion of them would be even lower than it is now, given how insubstantial many of the allegations were. And if they went "deep" into the tenuous connections between Obama and Ayers or Khalidi without going "deep" into their tenuous connections with McCain, that would be blatant bias...
I've got lots of anime DVDs, and the interlacing is quite noticeable in them. And now that I know what to look for, I tend to notice them in other DVDs, too. I much prefer viewing DVDs without them, though not really bothered by the interlacing. (I did after all watch them with Xine for a few months until realizing that deinterlacing has to be explicitly turned on by the 'I' key (I always wondered why changing deinterlacing algorithms didn't do any better or worse in getting rid of those "ghost" lines: why can't it be turned on by default?))
It's probably something real simple I'm missing. Thanks for the pointer, anyways.
(I have the name of the app correct in the subject but wrong in the body. Go figure.:-/)
How does one turn on deinterlacing for iDVD? I can't believe that the Mac's DVD player doesn't support this, but I've been unable to find out how to turn it on. I much prefer watching my DVD's on my Linux box than on my Mac OS X box because at least I know how to get rid of those interlace effects on the former.
If it's using the surrounding magnetic field (which is what I understand from the article), then the energy can come from what is generating the magnetic field (e.g. the Sun or Earth).
Though if it's not using the surrounding field, then it would be crackpot science...
It's not a time waster, but it can be a big waste of disk space. Once, on a machine that I began to administrate, I discovered that almost all of the disk space was being devoted to porn.
I don't care if anyone looks at porn or not, but I do have a large issue with people who uses up so much shared resources on such a non-essential item.
The proper way for ISPs to handle this kind of problem is to meter bandwidth, not completely block off an entire service.

Amen to that.
I thought just watching Fox News would be proof enough ...

I don't get it. What's the difference between slotMusic and a read-only microSD card with a bunch of MP3 files on it?
Please, no Battle Royale ...

If you use application specific directories for shared libraries, you may as well statically link the whole thing in the first place.
On the other hand, the reactionless drive in the article would also have a reaction against whatever was generating the surrounding magnetic field.
It's not a reactionless drive per se, but solar sails do not have to carry around their reaction mass.
