I write this hoping that it's obvious to everyone, but I just want to put in my two cents on this.
First of all, this report is useless because it is clearly based on number of hits and not on how much time is actually spent there. At the same time, it is no surprise that so many people do go there, as many people here have already noted that they are the default pages on most of the country's ISPs. Think of how many people are using 56k modems still, and you can bet that most of them don't even know where to set their browser's preverences.
The bad news is this. This is the real world. Most people are quite ignorant (I know I am about a great many things) and are usually content to take whatever is handed to them.
Note the success of our current "President." I'll bet the same moronic 50% of the country responsible for that jackass getting elected are the same ones responsible for these four sites getting 50% of our clicks.
The Man is gaining power. Stay sharp and don't be one of the sheep!
