  1. we are already behind schedule 500technology years on Microsoft EULA stokes crusade · · Score: 1

Sharing Knowledge is what scientists and Good Samaritans did(before the patent regime) we are already behind schedule 500technology years(approx.) due to withholding of knowledge by few, inventions in the fields of agriculture, military, metallurgy and what not This Bill boy is getting too greedy, But the cat is out of the bucket, GPL is more as a self-assurance/insurance against non-support of the product/service or the version by the vendor for the reason or other. Open source is not about GNU tools, Freeware, its about sharing and heritage of thoughts, knowledge and also code

  2. Let things happen, and chaos is gone on Russians Offering More Space Tourism · · Score: 1

Best Things and inventions have died of non commercialisation,

Space is one such turf, had there been a licencing to fly(for passenger) there wont be airlines

Environ friendly Solar energy is not utilised to its potential

let few people go up spend their honeymoon to space

they(space researchers) will have more mandate to do research and devlopment and lot more to explore

if nasa and guys(bad opinion scientists) dont interest people to go to space then why are they wasting taxpayers money which wont benefit citzens in any way

  3. First Thing First on How Long Can The Free Services Stay Free? · · Score: 1

SOftware is more like knowledge, it is not manufactured

you dont pay for the car, but for the raw material, transformation, labour and profit

if the raw material was free
material tranformation(melting, forging etc.) was free
if someone is offering free labour
and some non-profit car company want your car can be free

The initial cost of development in closed source model is high, the price they charge is proportionate to the size of the company and the money it has(Microsoft is a case)not the benefits the user gets

open source development is not costly, its more like community development work, You dont reinvent the wheel, existing tools and service are optimally utilised, Sharing Your knowledge and software has become cheaper and widely available due to internet

You dont lose anything as in theft with open source, but you gain good will, you save manhours, you help your community
