I think we can define cybernetic organisms on a scale. It's arguable that we're already cyborgs because of our intimicy with technological devices that fit, to some degree the definition of cybernetic, (well some more intimate than others, but that's another story, baby.) Now admittedly that's a long shot from robocop, or putting our brains in a robo-crusher, but the moment an organism communicates with technology, you're starting to talk about cyborgs.
