    better read the abstract again:

"The watermark is a signature, embedded within the data of the original signal, which in addition to being inaudible to the human ear, should also be statistically undetectable, and resistant to any attempts to remove it."

inaudible, but statistically undetectible. it says....this would tend to make me think detectable if you know what you're looking for.

a good mic will pick up sounds out of the range of the human ear...you won't hear it, but I bet if you hooked an oscilloscope up to the analog output, you could see it. not that you would necessarily know that you've seen it.

roger that....am breaking out the reel-to-reel right now.

there's really nothing wrong with ebooks...the reason I don't like them is the monitor glare and I can't seem to decent resolution to size ratio acrossed monitors. it's just no where nearly as easy reading from a large monitor as it is from paper, and reading from a Palm always reminds me it's time to see the optometrist to up the prescription.

when I see a good appliance designed specifically for ebooks, I might start to take them more seriously, but right now I can't make it more than 10-20 pages into a 300 page book.

where's the wonder paper they promised us a few years back?

this is totally off base. when I didn't get the extra DL-380 I wanted last month, I bitched and moaned and went and pulled a PowerEdge we experimented with last off the shelf and tried to make do with the toys I have, but when the knuckle head of Exchange/MSSQL admin(if it can be called such) blows up one of his servers every three months, he gets whatever he wants. if he would take whatever long, hard object he has in his ass out and start enjoying his works, maybe he wouldn't be such a screw up. some of us actually enjoy our work, just cause it shows doesn't mean we're not working.....but I would suggest that if everyone is a jerk off but you, maybe they aren't the problem.

I tend to agree with the first guy, it is just another PDA. Voice notes? come on now, my phone does that, along with notes, fax email, internet access, appointments...why should I be excited about another Palm Pilot clone? now, when they start to get more power like the CE and the future of Linux driven PDAs, I start to take interest, because they can actually do stuff... but, right now, the cell phone has taken away all of the killer apps that the Palm type PDAs have.

I keep a hotmail account for everything I do on the web, so the bulk of the spam I get is from people I know. I would most likely give my spammers the easy way in and have to block them anyway, just like I do now.

doesn't really sound practical to begin with. my ISP blocked mail.com and it took me 3 days for a seller at eBay to figure out how to respond to my pay confirmation....it would seem like this, just like my ISP's "plan", punishes everyone regardless of guilt.
