The "go talk to a lawyer" crowd seems to have forgotten that by talking to a community such as this might provide you with insight and questions to pose to your lawyer, so that you might actually be able to assist in your case. In addition, I concur with the idea that was expressed previously that there might be some members who have had very similar experiences.
Becoming more knowledgeable about a subject prior to visiting a lawyer is simple common sense. Where better to start than this group. However, I might disagree with the idea of the $10 lawyer. I have found that in certain instances, you do get what you pay for.
Thanks for the info. For those of us on the periphery, it is not always easy to see who is "on the level" and who is not. While I won't, of course, buy any story about someone, it is nice to get some background from people in the know.
