Has anyone noticed that when NASA needs funding for some project these days that rocks are found that somehow found their way to the earth. These are identifyed by their particular structure and composition based on our knowledge of the indegionus rocks known to exist on these moons and planets, even though no one has ever been there or seen one, and no samples have ever been brought back by any means. I might find a Jupiter moon rock in my back yard. It will have been tossed here by some astoriod collision. How will I identify the markings?
I have yet to see a new federal program that did anything but grow the size of the government. They want to be a part of the " new technology " so they can glean more power, create new taxes, and control what we do or don't do with our lives. I think doing away with the IRS and the existing tax law would make an IT CZAR more harmless than it will be under todays conditions.
I have done tech support before. A number of the really stupid calls were from people who didn't know what they were doing when they deleted something. Please don't delete "prog.man" that is not a game on your computer!
I spent a number of years explaining to these same people that the computer is a usefull tool for their productivity when they asked me why they should have one and what was it good for.
The "catch22" is that if no one offers the support for these new users they will not be able to use the product and in the future they will not buy the product. Thus no need for tech support or enginers to develop new product.
